New Proceedings Denounce Reformatory Healthcare Provider for Inadequate Medical Care

(New lawsuit incriminates prison healthcare provider Centene for substandard medical care)

Centene has been accused of profiting from the marginalized and impoverished again. It has been discovered that the hospital is not doing enough medical tests. Many people may already have a medical problem that would worsen in confinement. With several inmates suffering from mental illnesses, it’s unfortunate that nothing is being done to help them – which Centene appears to have entirely wiped its hands off the situation.

Parchman Penitentiary has recorded 23 deaths since December 29, 2019, in a constant reminder that real life can mirror film (Orange Is the New Black). The prison’s circumstances have been deplorable, with the film showing rodent infestations and an unpleasant and unhealthy quality of life.

Shareholder Laura Wood filed a complaint in Delaware Chancery, enraged by the state of circumstances and the sharp rise in the death toll and concerned about the impact of Centene Corporation’s inadequate medical care on the company’s reputation. She expressed her dissatisfaction with inmates’ “low standards of medical care” in her appeal.

Centene tries to stop the litigation by issuing a demand.

Centene Corporation has mandated Roc Nation and Spiro’s law firm, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, for access to papers relating to the matter, as it has done in the past in an attempt to bluff it out.

The inmates of the prison are being supported in their struggle for justice and appropriate medical care by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, which has recently sought improvements in the judicial system. Alex Spiro, an attorney, engaged by ROC Nation, slammed Centene Corporation’s efforts to stifle justice and fair play. He claimed that the indictments had no purpose. Instead, they served to demonstrate the corporation’s status as a big bully and to sabotage the process of improving governance and the judicial system.

Centene has already been accused of prioritizing profit over fair play. Not only did the healthcare company hide $300 million in debt, deceiving shareholders and causing a billion-dollar loss in market value, but they’ve also been accused of using intimidation and pressure on multiple occasions.

While corporation leaders made huge profits, the most vulnerable members of society, such as prisoners, the homeless, and the needy, were the ones who bore the brunt of it.

Sovereign Health is a leading health center especially for addiction treatment, mental illness, and dual diagnosis, and was targeted using similar tactics.

Prison inmates are among the most vulnerable members of society – whose voices have been silenced for a long time. Unfortunately, not everyone who serves time in a detention center is a seasoned criminal or a miserly. The majority of those prisoners are there for minor offenses, and if given a chance, they would gladly change their ways and become model American citizens.

Aside from the mental health issues that come with living in a cage, many people suffer from joint disorders, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and other conditions that require immediate attention. Medical facilities, medicine, and care professionals are in short supply, resulting in the loss of priceless lives.

It is time for us to speak up against big businesses’ terrible treatment of the imprisoned.
